Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Doula?

As a doula, I provide emotional, physical, and informational support to women and families throughout the pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journey. Childbirth can be challenging, intense, and sometimes overwhelming, but it is also incredibly beautiful, transformative, and joyful. My role is to support, empower, and inform you every step of the way, helping to reduce anxiety and instill confidence, so you can experience this life-changing event with peace and trust in yourself.

Why should I hire a Doula?

Research shows that having a doula can lead to:

  • Shorter labors
  • Lower rates of cesarean sections and interventions
  • Increased satisfaction with the birth experience
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Support for partners and families

Our goal is to empower you and help ensure your birth experience aligns with your preferences and values.

How much do Doula services cost?

My fees depend on the specific package or level of support you choose. I offer different pricing options based on factors like the location of your birth, the level of postpartum care, and the amount of prenatal support you need. I encourage you to reach out to me directly for detailed pricing and payment plans. I also offer flexible payment plans and can discuss options to ensure my services are accessible to you.

Will you replace my partner or support person?

No, my role is to complement and enhance the support provided by your partner and loved ones. I work alongside them to ensure that they feel empowered and confident in their role. My presence allows your partner to focus on you, without worrying about the logistics or providing comfort measures themselves. I also provide a calming, steady presence that helps everyone feel more supported.

Do you support all types of the birth?

Absolutely! I believe every birth is unique, and I offer support for all types of births, whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, birth center birth, cesarean section, or VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). My role is to support you in whatever choices feel best for you, while providing emotional, physical, and informational support.

When should I hire a Doula?

Ideally, you should hire a doula early in your pregnancy—around 12 to 20 weeks—but we can accept clients later in pregnancy as well, depending on availability. The sooner you reach out, the more flexibility we have in scheduling and preparing for your birth.
